AMET UNIVERSITY (Formerly Academy of Maritime Education and Training) was established in 1993, as an institution imparting maritime education approved by the Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Govt, of India. It has collaboration with the reputed Glasgow College of Nautical Studies (G.C.N.S) Glasgow, Scotland and also with South Tyneside College, Newcastle.

AMET is the pioneer in India to introduce collaborations in maritime programmes. AMET offers various Marine & Allied courses at Post Graduate, Graduate and Diploma Level. Amet is certified with ISO 9001 2000 standard certificate by Det Norske Veritas Norway for providing quality education all through these years.

AMET enjoys a training collaboration with A.P Moller (MAERSK), Singapore, a leading Cargo shipping Company in the world. A.P Moller sponsors 80% of the course fees of the BE Marine Technology student with a guarantee to absorb them in their own company on lucrative terms.

Ministry of Human Resource Development has conferred AMET with the Deemed University Status during August 2007, making AMET the first university to offer maritime education in India.

SARASWATHI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (SIMS)

Saraswathi Ammal Educational and Charitable Trust, currently a 500 - bedded hospital cum Medical College in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh was established with a prime motive to provide medical services to the underprivileged villages in and around Ghaziabad, who had to travel miles to get treatment before. Addressing the crucial medical needs of the villagers, SIMS also organizes free medical camps, blood camps and free eye camps at free of cost enabling quality service to the deserved people.

This state of Art hospital is on the National Highway and is centrally located in Ghaziabad Dist. Situated in a congenial atmosphere and equipped with rich and sophisticated infrastructure, SIMS has within highly qualified Physicians and Surgeons to treat critical diseases and performs advanced medical surgeries.

AS A SOCIAL WORKER

Following his father’s footsteps Mr. Rajesh, with his socialistic thoughts involved himself in social service activities as the vice chairman, NAESEY, first non-governmental voluntary organization, promoting rural development in the area of Arakkonam and Vellore districts of Tamil Nadu. With the support earned through this  service, he was able to win the support of the people to win the post of the Youth Congress President at the Arakkonam Parlimentary Constituency.
